The Strobel Family! {Golden & Denver, CO Family Photographer}

It inspires me to watch people follow what speaks to their heart.  No matter what it is. I guess, it is those “heart strings” I always like to talk about. That pull to do something and be a part of something bigger. To fight for something… for someone. It inspires me to follow what is strong in my heart, when I watch someone else do the same. It reminds that I can, indeed, make a difference. Rebecca does that for me.

I met Rebecca about three years ago. She lives in my neighborhood, but even more we are in the same book club.  (Love my book club girls!!)  But, when I met Rebecca… in an instant it was obvious that she has a greater purpose in life. She has more love and compassion towards animals than any person I have ever met.  She takes it on as her responsibility to speak for those animals whose voices are not always understood or heard. She stands strong and stubborn and she fights for their rights… and it is overwhelmingly inspiring. I am so thankful for her in my life… as she pushes me, without even knowing, to be a person who strives to look beyond themselves.

When Rebecca asked me to capture her family, I was both excited and nervous. I wanted to do such a great job capturing her, her husband Kurt… and her other two loves… Piper and Bentley. I wanted to show her how amazing she is and how blessed she is with an incredible family! I was so honored to be a part of it!

Speaking of family, Kurt’s parents -Betty and John, just live down the road from them… what a great opportunity to get some fun photos of them too. When they arrived, I think there were taken a bit off guard with my silly and fun approach to photography… I think they were prepared for some formal posed shots. Surprise! It was fun to get them to relax and just play.

I actually got them talking about how they first met…and we captured so many fun photos as they took me down memory lane…

John told me they met nearly 60 years ago at CU-Boulder. He said “She was the prettiest girl in the room.” Betty playfully slapped his knee and said, “Oh, that is not true!” … and he said… “Yes it is.” Love. So much better than a posed formal shot… but that is just my two cents! 🙂

Thank you so much, Strobel family!!!
