This is me and my little family! I like to keep it real. As a parent, I understand that getting your family out the door on time deserves a standing ovation. I believe in family chaos, but live for those sparkly, in-between, moments. Life... imperfectly, perfect!

It is not my goal to capture the "flawless traditional portrait." I want to capture your relationships, personalities, and real smiles.

It is daunting to know that a moment is here and then gone forever. Somewhere in the layers of that thought sits my love for photography...wanting hold onto a moment. So you can always remember how tiny your newborn is, your three- year olds endless giggle-smile, or those precious days before your teenager heads out into the big world in pursuit of their dreams. All that jump-up and down, DANG I am blessed, good stuff in life!

Just show up ready to have fun and let your family... be your unique, incredible family! And l will do the rest! Promise! I can't wait to meet you! xo Kate

I love one year photos.

I love them because these sweet one year old’s are all hitting their milestones in their own perfect time. When we celebrate ONE with them…some may be crawling, some stumbling, some walking… and then others in a full on run. It feels like such a great metaphor for life. Get “there”, when you are ready – really ready. Not sooner or not later… I love this. These little ones, do not rush or take too much time. But take their first steps when it feels right. When they are ready. I love that.

I met the Feeley family, when friends of Kate’s (AKA: Mom) parents gave them a gift certificate for a family session. What an amazing gift… Granted, I am a photographer (smile) so could there really be a better gift?!?! But, I really do believe it… my hope is that these moments we captured on this day will always help them remember this time in their life with sweet Wyatt… one year old Wyatt. His curious looks and adventurous ways.

He will grow. We can’t stop it… but I love that we can always peek into the window of days gone by through photography…and treasure them.

ps- I know, I know… I had to wipe the cobwebs off this blog…it has been a while… I heard the door creak when I walked in to post here. But… I am back!… and plan to post lots from sessions this spring/early summer in the coming month. YAY! I can’t wait to share with you!
