I have been photographing the Dickey family for years… and I just love that fact that when two of my favorite littlest clients – Clay and Maddie – climb out of the car, they know who I am and know we are going to have fun! They know how this photo fun works… and you what? I think it pays in spades when it comes to the photos. They know me. I know them… and we just do our thing! During this session, I really realized how powerful it is to work with clients year after year… I am so, so grateful! I love thinking of Clay and Maddie, 25 years down the road… showing their family some of their childhood photos… and I smile knowing these will be among them. Thank you Dickey Family, as always, for believing in me and for always completely trusting me to capture your family. I treasure you…

The Heagren Family… from three to four! {Family and Children’s Lifestyle Photographer in Denver and Golden, Colorado}

They ventured all the way from my home state of Minnesota for our second session together. Granted, they used to live here in Colorado and visit when they can, but still I loved getting the chance to capture them while they were in town. Good stuff, I tell ya!

Dawn and I have lived parallel lives growing up – with both attended a Catholic School together (and truth is, anyone who attended this school together are automatic friends for life- that is just how it is… ask any of them!), shared many of the same teachers and well… grew up living the “Minnesota Nice” way of life! I like to think, I haven’t completely lost that being in Colorado for years now… but truth is – Dawn has rubbed that off on her entire family. What a great bunch. So fun, so wonderful, so appreciative… and yes, nice!

The last time I saw them at our first session, it was just the three of them… but at that session a little bird told me that this coming year they would be welcoming a new little bundle… I was so excited! And now that little bundle is known as crazy-cute, laid-back, Oliver. Sweet as sweet can be. It is so fun for me to watch families grow…esp as mine is planned to grow +1 in September.

Thanks for all the fun, guys (and the cupcake, treat!) I love when parents are “in it” with me at the sessions. We all work hard together to capture some great memories… and Dawn and Douglas are no exception. I hope I continue to get the opportunity to watch Katherine and Oliver grow up! Love to you four, Dont’cha know! (So darn proud of my Minnesota roots and my accent that squeaks out now and then… or maybe a bit more than that! I’ll always be Minnesotan!)

More… TWINS! {Children’s and Family Lifestyle Photographer in Denver and Golden, Colorado}

Maybe I am just seeing double… as this was my second set of twins in a week! YAY!

This time… two year old boys! What is not to love? Cars, trucks, wrestling and non-stop action. So fun!

This family just moved to Colorado this year and as we were planning our session in February, they were asking me when will the weather be warm and the grass green? Well, this could not have been a more perfect year to full demonstrate… how in Colorado… ya just never know. Thankfully, we planned for our session in mid to late May… and we were greeted with a beautiful day. WHEW! And YAY!

Such an awesome family… check them out. I think you will fall in love… just like I did.

I am always so honored to capture families…Thank you Oun, Duane, Trent and Cole for everything and welcoming me into your lives with such warmth and love. Truly, an honor.

TWINS! {Family and Childrens Lifestyle Photographer in Denver and Golden, CO}

Twins… I love them. I have to say I am a bit envious of them though…I always thought it would be such fun to be a twin, didn’t you? Someone, at your side, sharing life… and instant best friend! But, I also admit, I have never been jealous of the parents of multiples. I simply watch in awe as … every single one I know -every single one (you know who you are… I have probably told you how amazing you are!!)… makes it looks like a piece of cake. How do they do it? But, I am smarter than that (ha!)… It is good ‘ole fashion hard work! I have one child of my own (and one on the way- yay!) and cannot comprehend twice the work… at the same time…esp those first few years. Whew! I salute you, parents of multiples! Extraordinary work!

Add to that… I was given the opportunity to capture twins who recently turned one and hitting those walking milestones. Sigh. I love being asked to capture this time in a families life. It is so sweet to watch those new walkers, tackle the world with such curiosity. So much to see and explore. I just love it. Watch out world!

Well, you will love this family. You just will. Take a look… and when you do, know that those sweet twin linen outfits are HANDMADE by grandma! No kidding! Man, that there is some talent! Do you see that detail work on that little dress?!?… impressed. Serious props to grandma!

I so loved meeting this family… and loved that they were so laid back and went with the flow of it. There really is no other way, I guess, when you have twin toddlers… but again, they make it look easy. They are good parents… actually- great parents… so, so easy to see!

My dear, sweet baby… {Denver and Golden, Colorado Family and Children’s Lifestyle Photographer}

Sweet Baby~

How is it possible to love you so much already? My heart instantly expanded and happy tears filled my eyes the first time I saw you. Today when I heard your heart, mine skipped a beat. I wanted to hold you, wrap my arms around you and kiss you endlessly, but we will wait…me, your dad and your sister, Mica… until your birthday this September.

Keep growing healthy and strong.

Yes, friends… Bill and I are expecting a baby! A BABY! Due on September 20th. We are more than thrilled and so excited to share the news with you.

BUT, when I heard our due date, I couldn’t help but also think of all of you – my clients… many of whom I see annually in the fall for a fun family session.

With that, as you may have guessed, I am going to allow this fall photo season to pass me by with my new baby in my arms and take a break from shooting (and no worries, I will be back behind the camera before you know it!). Life is filled with blessings and I keep counting them! This is one of those times, I just can’t let slip by. But I do want to encourage anyone who is interested in having photos done by me this coming fall, to consider having them done in June, July or early August – in the glorious summer sun! I am going to jam pack those months as much as humanly possible to fit everyone interested! So, drop me a note and let’s get it booked!

And even though I won’t be doing full family sessions in late August/early September, I know several of my clients who are expecting a few weeks before me…so, depending on when this baby comes, I am hoping to exclusively schedule a few newborn sessions in late August/early September as long as I am feeling good. So please let me know if you are interested in a newborn session during this time and we can talk details.
